So, the good news is, things are pretty much fine again. Stress has reduced greatly, things are stable and have mostly settled back into a normal kind of rhythm (a good kind of normal, the kind of normal we wanted in the first place).
However, life (or god/fate/whatever you wanna call it) decided that it was not satisfied with letting this go without a fight, so we get MORE car trouble! Hooray!
Jesus, just about a month and a half ago, it was the starter! We bought a replacement and tried to put it in ourselves (meaning Nate and his stepdad mostly), but we hit a snag with a bum bolt and so now we’re probably going to have to tow it in to the mechanic to have them put in the alternator and belt we bought. Oh well. It’s gotta get done. As it stands, Nate’s going to miss classes today because we have no way to reliably and promptly get him in to BCC in time.
We even bought a Dremel rotary tool to cut the bolt, but it turned out to be too much of a pain in the ass even with that. The Dremel will come in handy, though. I have plans for it and Nate would like to try his hand(s) at woodcarving.
Nate and I are rekindling our appreciation for black metal (and other subgenres) with bands like Bal-Sagoth, My Dying Bride and others, such as Meshuggah.
