My awesome Tensor full-spectrum floor lamp’s bulb finally died. I’ve had the thing for approximately 3-4 years now, so I guess it was about time for the bulb to bite the dust. Unfortunately, those particular bulbs do not tend to run especially cheap and I’m out of regular energy saving bulbs (or even energy sucking halogens) to put into the lamp for the time being. Funny thing is, the lamp itself has been broken for a year or two already; the uh… neck of it, I guess… the pole that attaches the light to the base, doesn’t stand on the base properly and I have to prop the sucker against the wall to use it, but at least I could use it, until now.
Typically, I only used my Tensor lamp when I was doing something at my desk that required a significant light source: drawing, reading, writing, crocheting with darker yarn or with crochet cotton (very small) or some kind of detail work, so I didn’t think it would make that much of a difference, but now that I am quite simply unable to use the lamp at all do I finally feel the loss of it.
So, that’s kind of a bummer.
Another bummer is that my birthday is coming up on Monday. I guess it’s cool that it’s another one of those years where it happens to fall on Labor Day, but aside from that, it’s a pretty ho-hum kinda deal. I’ve not been particularly enthused with birthdays since I was probably about 12 or so.
